$32,966 to $48,728 based on ACCS Board of Trustees Salary Schedule E3 05 and experience.
Financial Aid Information Specialist (2 Positions) Jefferson and Shelby CampusesPerform a variety of functions in the Financial Aid Office including providing information to students applying for aid and to various external agencies, establishing files for financial aid applicants, and processing grant applications.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Assist students with the completion of financial aid application and inform them of the procedures for applying for aid.
Prepare files for students applying for financial aid.
Track documents which applicants have placed on file and evaluate students' files to determine whether additional documents are needed.
Communicate with students about requested documents.
Review daily files and process documents in a timely manner.
Analyze federal tax return documents.
Process student files and complete verification of Student Aid Reports if required.
Index completed student files in Xtender.
Review incoming financial aid transcripts to determine student's eligibility for aid.
Perform data entry as required to make Grant, Loan, FSEOG and scholarship awards.
Assist Scholarship Committee with evaluation and awarding of scholarship awards.
Perform the various reporting and processing functions.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Marginal FunctionsAssist with the processing of Financial Aid transcripts.
Train and supervise student workers and L-19 employees to assist with filing, document processing, and front desk customer service.
Visit high schools and talk with external and on-campus groups and organizations about financial aid programs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Associate degree required (May substitute five years of related work experience for one year of education up to a maximum of four years education equivalency.
For example, ten years of related work experience will be equated to an associate degree--ten years must be verified.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesBasic oral and written communication skills.
Basic mathematical skills are necessary to compute and verify students' awards.
Sufficient computing and keyboarding skills are necessary to load student financial data and access student information digitally.
Ability to learn to use newly adapted technology necessary for essential job functions.
Ability to learn and perform all essential job functions accurately with minimal direct supervision.
